The government needs to care as with unfair pay, especially regarding race or gender, can cause an extreme social issue.
@9F7SVXS8mos8MO
No matter the race or color of someone, dose not determine how hard of a worker they are. Equal work, equal pay.
@9F88JVB8mos8MO
It's unfair to the workers if they are not getting paid equally, if their not getting paid the amount of money they need to live then how do you expect them to keep working, even if it's a different business?
@9F7WLY58mos8MO
No, the government should oversee private businesses payment of employees. Discrimination should not be allowed in the workplace due to race, gender, or sex. If the business doesn’t believe in Equal Pay then the government should override.
@9F7PPYM8mos8MO
The government should set a minimum to ensure that all employees make an amount they can easily live off of other than that they shouldn't determine whether they pay over that or not and how much.
@9F7TW258mos8MO
If its based off discrimination than thats not cool dude. However, if someone has been working their longer, or works harder than another person, they should be paid more.
@9F7727G8mos8MO
its illegal to discriminate in work spaces so if one person is getting paid less for the same job its discrimination most likely.
@9F7QZKC8mos8MO
I would say that without government restrictions, private businesses could be extremely exploitive and unfair to the workers. There should be government restrictions in place but they should be very minimal and give the business a lot of freedom without exploiting their workers.
@9F89S438mos8MO
the government has a responsibility to ensure accurate pay for the 2 parties (employer/emloyee ) agreed upon rate and enforce safe work practices , but each party has the right to agree or disagree with individual terms for a agreed upon time either individually or as a collective bargaining unit.
@9F73LRB8mos8MO
The government can tell the employers that there needs to be equal pay between both female and male like they all get the starting wage of $20.50 an hour and can gain yearly raises.
@9G3T5KR7mos7MO
No matter the race or color of someone, dose not determine how hard of a worker they are. Equal work, equal pay.
@9FPW6RZ7mos7MO
i think that everyone deserves equal pay unless someone isnt working for the money they are making and are doing less the minimum effort
@9G424W87mos7MO
There should be a consideration depending on the persons work ethic and ability to see if said person should be paid more.
@9G2PMTF7mos7MO
I agree with the statement that the government shouldn't determine private business pay because the owners built that business themselves nor does the government support them so they should decide what they want their workers should be paid.
@9FX78RF7mos7MO
no the government should decide the minimum pay because otherwise businesses can start paying super low and that is unfair to the employees
@9F7YY54Republican8mos8MO
Businesses each have their own functions, roles, tasks for each job so different levels of labor should equate with different levels of pay.
@9FPMKJL8mos8MO
Then private businesses could pay their employees low, unlivable wages. If the government regulates the minimum wage, it ensures everyone can make enough to live.
@9FNV6B38mos8MO
Yes they should be able to determine what a private business should pay employees because the boss of that business could be paying them unfairly.
@9FG76V98mos8MO
There could be some people who have no other options for a job than a private business, and this would just allow the business to leech work out of them with a pay of their choice. This could mean that the person could be paid as little as one dollar an hour, which is just wrong. While the government shouldn't be setting an exact amount, there SHOULD be a minimum wage.
@9F824ZJ8mos8MO
If the Private Business is clearly discriminating against certain people, like giving less money to People Of Color compared to their White counterparts, the government should be able to determine the people's salary.
@9FS7MF77mos7MO
I think that it is the private business's choice on what they feel, considering the labor work, the effort, etc. The government shouldn't be deciding at random for them
@9FW7MZYRepublican7mos7MO
The government (and therefore tax payers) carry the burden of underpaid employees when they visit the hospital, require social programs. The cost of these safety nets has been shown to be more than the solutions to the causes of those needs
@9FNQW6JRepublican8mos8MO
The government should be apart of what private businesses pay employees because employees really cant negotiate with the business about what they are being paid as they are not of higher power.
@9FV8Y2Q7mos7MO
The government should determine what a private business should pay employees based on equal pay because it would be very unfair for a man in the power have control over how much he pays women. It should be equal no matter the gender.
@9FH77ZK8mos8MO
While it's true that government intervention in the private sector should generally be minimal, there are compelling reasons for the government to play a role in ensuring equal pay for equal work. The aim is not to dictate wages arbitrarily but to rectify systemic issues and promote fairness in the workplace.
@9FGGHK5Peace and Freedom8mos8MO
It's important to allow buisnesses the opportunity to operate freely but at the same time safeguarding the right and well-being of of workers. Policies need to be implemented to make sure there is equal pay and reduce wage gaps.
@9G53GTJ7mos7MO
Yes, the government should determine what a private business should pay employees to keep it fair and equal for all those employed.
@9G3KCW67mos7MO
The government should be able to determine how much private company employees get paid. Some companys might pay their employees too little, and then that person is having trouble in their life.
@9G3PTCV7mos7MO
That's completley forgetful of multiple amendments passed during pre, during, and post civil war times. If the government had not gotten involved then, the terrible discrimination based on race would still (more than likely) be abundent.
@9FVFP827mos7MO
Private businesses cannot be trusted to always pay employees equally regardless of race, gender, ect.
@9F7MNPJ8mos8MO
The boss can make the salary quite low, so that people can get less money, which would cause a catastrophic distaster.
@9FPV42W7mos7MO
every private business should decide what they pay there employees and if the employee doesn't like it they can leave
