The Philippines' national security adviser called on Friday for Chinese diplomats to be expelled over an alleged leak of a phone conversation with a Filipino admiral in a significant escalation of a bitter row over the South China Sea.
China's embassy in Manila had orchestrated "repeated acts of engaging and dissemination of disinformation, misinformation and malinformation", with the objective of sowing discord, division and disunity, Eduardo Ano said in a statement.
Those actions "should not be allowed to pass unsanctioned without serious penalty", he said.
Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian called the comments provocative and said Chinese diplomats in the Philippines had to be allowed to do their job.
"China solemnly requests the Philippine side to effectively safeguard the normal performance of duties by Chinese diplomatic personnel, stop infringing and provoking, and refrain from denying the facts," Lin said at a regular press briefing in Beijing.
US ally? What US ally? The Philippines kicked us out of Subic Bay and said go away... so we went. And now the US Navy is a shrunken, socially engineered pansy boat regatta that can't steam straight.
Good luck, Philippine Islanders. You're going to need it.
Yes it was a stupid move by a few senators that caused the loss of Subic, but it wasn’t the sentiment of the majority of Filipinos, even the President at that time fought to keep the bases. The US Navy is still the strongest out there, but is now vulnerable to hypersonic missiles. Drones, aircraft and missiles will be the key. Clark is now host to US fighter planes.
Safely assume that the majority in the Asia Pacific region want China, it's military navy and environmentally destructive marine business out of the region full stop. China is only allowed in via it's illegal, corrupt, coercive and bullying manner.

True. And we're too weak to do much about it...and we're getting even weaker by the day. Our navy even sent its weapons to Ukraine, and is a couple hundred ships short of a full navy. We have a 3-day supply of anti-ship missiles. Red China probably has enough for a year.
So, you'd better learn to live with it...cuz it ain't getting any better anytime soon...even if you talk really, really tough.
We should give the PI and other like nations several of the missile cruisers we are retiring or have retired. Include launchers and training. They don't need to move other than to get there. So crewing would be greatly reduced to mainly weapon systems.
China had the opportunity to develop peaceful ties with the Philippines, Japan, Australia, Vietnam and the asian countries but their arrogance eliminated that possibilities. Instead China made enemies.
The US should be working full tilt on filling the South China Sea with autonomous, hunter-killer submarine drones.
