Israel warns Egypt: "Last chance" for hostage deal before Rafah invasion

Israeli officials told their Egyptian counterparts on Friday that Israel is ready to give hostage negotiations "one last chance" to reach a deal with Hamas, but if there isn't progress soon it will move forward with a ground invasion of Rafah, two senior Israeli officials said.

The Egyptians are increasingly concerned about a possible Israeli military operation in the southern Gaza city of Rafah and are making a last minute push for a hostage deal that would lead to a ceasefire in Gaza and stop an invasion of Rafah.

Egyptian officials have raised concerns that an Israeli operati…  Read more

if memory serves me well, Israel has ordered Gaza civilians to evacuate to all points of the compass since the start. They have then bombed each compass point to oblivion. And if we say "no" we are branded terrorist sympathisers and branded as antisemites.

Or Hamas could release the hostages and surrender.

But holding Hamas accountable is just asking too much.

 @MildL3gis1ativeWomen’s Equality from Massachusetts commented…1wk1W

Hamas attacked Israel but it’s Israel’s actions in Gaza that have broken the unwavering support of the American people. Long term, without that support, Israel is probably unsustainable.

Israel will turn to Russia or China to survive. And the Saudis will go with them because of Iran.

 @AshamedC4mpaignGreen from Kansas commented…1wk1W

Maybe if the US state department and Congress didn't actively work to fund this assault, and the US President didnt just give more military aid to support the destruction, then it wouldn't be inevitable.

 @CockatooVictoriaRepublican from Missouri disagreed…1wk1W

Letting Hamas stay in Rafah and boast how they had defeated Israel is absolutely unacceptable to the voters in Israel. It would lead be a model for using hostages and human shields in future attacks. Short of sending our forces to fight Israeli forces no pause or end in miliary aid will be enough to stop the clearing of Rafah.

Israel's enemies boast of destroying Israel and October 7 was a pretty good indication of what that would mean. Israel has nuclear weapons. Anything that reduces Israel's superiority in conventional forces or encourages Israel's enemies risks turning places Middle Eastern cities into sheets of radioactive glass.

 @WholesomeTradeTariffTranshumanist from Kansas commented…1wk1W

Human Rights Watch has described Gaza as an “open-air prison” pre Oct 7. Economic hardship includes more than half (53%) of Gaza’s population lives in poverty. Young people, in particular, face a staggering 75% unemployment rate.

Hamas by any other name is still Hamas. You can dismantle, you can destroy, you can dismember Hamas, but if don't allow the Palestinian people a human standard quality of life, there will be a continuous parade of one Hamas group after another.

Immigrants Head To Ireland To Avoid UK Deportation

The threat of deportation to Rwanda is causing migrants to head for Ireland instead of staying in Britain, Ireland's deputy prime minister told a British newspaper on Friday.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's flagship programme to send asylum seekers to Rwanda if they arrive in Britain illegally was approved by parliament earlier this week and the government wants the first flights to take off in 10-12 weeks.

Deputy Prime Minister Micheal Martin told The Daily Telegraph that the policy was already affecting Ireland because people were "fearful" of staying in Britain.

Britain can return them to France, it's just chosen not to. Instead it has come up with a ridiculous Rwanda policy that will fail miserably and wont stop the boats.

If Ireland keeps sending criminal immigrants to Britain, Britain has a right to declare war and take back that island.

Scotland's Government Collapses Over Missed Climate Change Goals

The first minister has ended the SNP's power-sharing deal with the Scottish Green Party.

The chaos unfolded last week after the first minister admitted Scotland won’t meet its climate targets, which had called for a 75% reduction in carbon-dioxide emissions compared to 1990 by 2030 as a milepost on the way to net zero by 2045. The government is all but giving up, abandoning concrete annual emissions goals in favor of vaguer multiyear emissions “budgets.”

A recent report from the U.K.’s Climate Change Committee, a quasi-governmental body that supports climate action,…  Read more

I truly hope that the party crashes and burns.

They also took an education system which was at one time the pride of the UK, and reduced it to complete ashes.

 @PitifulG3rrym4nderPatriot from Oregon commented…1wk1W

Kind of ironic when one realizes that the air circulates around the planet and emissions produced in Scotland are like an ant on an elephant’s behind compared to the emissions produced elsewhere by the big emission producing countries. No amount of emission reduction by Scotland will make any difference other than put Scots out of work and make goods produced in Scotland more expensive.

 @YouthfulHareLibertarian from Ohio agreed…1wk1W

The same is true for the larger US-any "gains" we might make are wiped out in 1 day by China and India coal plants. Also, CO2 isn't a pollutant....pretty important to have!

 @DejectedHouseRepublicanfrom Missouri commented…1wk1W

Net Zero programs have also made a mess in England and Germany.

Voters in the U.S.A. should get rid of Joe Biden this November to avoid having this country fall into the same "Net Zero" bog that is consuming those three countries.

 @LazyPloverForward from California commented…1wk1W

Net Zero is a war against the West’s ability to defend global civil liberties.

De-industrializing the West with Net Zero will insure the globe suffers someday soon a Tsunami of Tyranny - all of it with no free speech and horrific, horrific global pollution. Net Zero is designed to destroy the bedrock foundation of freedom.

Poland Will Transfer Ukrainian Men Back To Homeland For War

Poland has suggested it will help transfer Ukrainian men of fighting age back to their homeland, as Kyiv seeks to shore up its depleted armed forces.

Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, the defence minister of Poland, said he was ready to take whatever steps necessary to move tens of thousands of men of military fighting age back to Ukraine.

“We have suggested for a long time that we can help the Ukrainian side ensure that people subject to compulsory military service go to Ukraine,” he told Polsat, a Polish TV network.

Asked if this would involve a request from Ukraine to transport men of fighting age, he added: “Everything is possible.”

It was not immediately clear what steps Poland might take to transfer the Ukrainians, such as deportation or a bilateral agreement with Kyiv.

Yes, the great majority of humans have cognitive dissonance and Stockholm Syndrome when it comes to the actions of governments. They always excuse whatever the State does that which they would never tolerate from people.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington agreed…1wk1W

–*EXACTLY*– I tell people this all the time! If you would not be within your rights to use force in any situation, government, whose every action involves force, is not justified to involve itself in that situation.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington commented…1wk1W

This war has cost American taxpayers 234 billion dollars. That's 234 billion dollars worth of jobs killed, or around two million jobs per year for each year of the Ukrainian War. That's $700 dollars for every person in this country, including children and illegal aliens who don't pay taxes. This translates to $2,800 for the average family of four and $4,200 for a family of six. All of this is being illegally and unconstitutionally stolen from you to subsidise an authoritarian regime and fund senseless slaughter. These are hard facts they don't want you to know. Are you happy about this?

 @D3baterCougarForward from Virginia commented…1wk1W

Poland gets to solve its farmer problem, its longstanding anti-immigration sentiments & it’s full throated opposition to Russia by sending its Ukrainian residents & refugees straight to the front, killing three birds with one stone packaged as an ally supporting Ukraine.

 @ImpeachmentPonieGreen from New Jersey commented…1wk1W

I don't like this situation when so many Ukrainians now live in Poland and even not trying to integrate, but this is not fair. Most of them just escaped this horror and don't want to feed Russian meat grinder in the name of global elites and their filthy businesses.

German Green Party Accused Of Lying Over Nuclear Power Safety to Force Plant Shutdowns

Green party ministers in Germany have been accused of lying about safety issues at the country’s nuclear power plants to ensure they were shut down, even as the war in Ukraine threatened European energy supplies.

A German media outlet has accused Green ministers in the country’s coalition government of covering up key technical reports that suggested keeping the nuclear plants open would have lessened the country’s energy squeeze in 2022.

 @PluckyLobbyistPatriotfrom Utah commented…1wk1W

The dubious political tactics of Germany's Greens are no surprise. What is more interesting is the original decision of the increasingly discredited Angela Merkel who thought up the whole plan. Given that this left Germany ever more reliant upon Russian gas, it would be interesting for the true motivations of this DDR product to be more closely investigated.

All the Greens of the west are really at war against recent technology. They live comfortably, yet in the silly, romantic heads they have dreams of bucolic, idyllic lifestyles without an industrial chimney in sight. In reality, without sufficient energy, cheap enough for everyone to afford, our lives would be nasty, brutish and short.It's an irony that millions enjoy the fruits of technological advancements, over the last few centuries, but without any understanding of the sciences, technologies or financial and legal structures that support them.

American Military Attacked While Building Gaza Aid Pier

Gaza-based militants launched mortar rounds on Wednesday at Israeli forces making preparations for the U.S.-led effort to establish a new maritime aid route for Gaza, according to three U.S. officials.

No American equipment was damaged as the U.S.-led project — which will establish a pier a few miles offshore as well as a causeway anchored to the beach to expand access to humanitarian aid — is not yet complete, said one of the officials. All were granted anonymity to discuss sensitive plans.
