Why do you think sports organizations are seeking scientific studies on trans athletes' performances, and how do you feel about the use of science to resolve debates about fairness in sports?

Using science is a very fair way to determine the athlete's abilities. As far as my personal stance goes, biological men (including trans women) should be competing with their biological gender, unless their abilities prove otherwise (shows no advantage over the latter gender).
