The Right is slamming Trump for refusing to ban abortion and the Left is slamming him as a unique threat, yet Trump is representing the American consensus on abortion—against a ban and firmly in support of exceptions for rape, incest & mother's health. Will of the people indeed.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington commented…1mo1MO

To hell with the people's will when their will is to allow MURDER to happen!

 @P0litic4lPlatformFaithUnityfrom Michigan disagreed…1mo1MO

Now do mRNA vaccines his will of the people on that was a huge mistake.

Did more harm than good with operation warp speed basically gave big pharma a blank check for faulty product.

Bad. Very bad.

 @LuminousMacawPeace and Freedom from Illinois commented…1mo1MO

You mean conservatives are self aware that decision makers who represent them are effectively progressives driving the speed limit. And this is why conservatives are bad, because they aren't more like libs? Cool story

 @BureaucratHazelSocialistfrom Vermont agreed…1mo1MO

Yeah I basically agree with the stance he's outlined here. and it is a lot more moderate than right-wing TV.

 @PitifulSwanRepublicanfrom Texas commented…1mo1MO

Trump was a pro abortion Democrat until 2012.

 @VettedVoteJohnDemocratfrom Pennsylvania agreed…1mo1MO

Yes. Until he figured out it would easier to grift Republicans and take over their party. You were warned.

 @CaribouHarperRepublican from Illinois agreed…1mo1MO

And Biden wrote the harshest crime bills, simped for the Iraq war, eulogized a kkk guy and shilled for credit card companies for 30 years before becoming VP.

It’s all makes zero sense.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington agreed…1mo1MO

Political power corrupts – that's why we have the scumbags we do as "leaders."

 @GrudgingQuorumGreenfrom Kentucky commented…1mo1MO

Let’s hope he can pull the party back to more reasonable thinking on abortion.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington disagreed…1mo1MO

The only "Reasonable" way to view abortion is acknowledging it as cold-blooded murder, and zealously defending human life from the point of conception.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1mo1MO

If the decision on abortion laws is left to the states, do you think this could lead to inequality among Americans in different states?

 @9LDSBRBDemocrat from Georgia commented…1mo1MO

Yes, because it can create unfair opportunities for women to have abortions in different states.

 @9LDS87M from Missouri commented…1mo1MO

abortion is bad after 3 months and but if it's rape or other it is the women's choice you band it women die with unsafe abortion keep women safe with safe abortion

 @9LDV37YPeace and Freedomanswered…1mo1MO

Yes but i think if they want an abortion and it is banned in their current state they can travel to another to get the procedure done.

 @FearlessPorcupineRepublican from Ohio commented…1mo1MO

So weak.

Trump punts on the issue of pro-life and pledges to support whatever states decide, including blue states that will allow abortion until the moment of birth.

“Follow your heart” is a Hallmark card, not strong conservative principled policy.

 @Qu0rumRhinoPatriot from Pennsylvania disagreed…1mo1MO

This was the ONLY position Trump could take and hope to win in November. He just brilliantly took away the Democrats #1 issue!

 @FearlessPorcupineRepublican from Ohio disagreed…1mo1MO

Dude. I get you’re backing Trump, and that’s fine, but at least be honest about him like you were when you supported DeSantis.

This is not the right call.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington agreed…1mo1MO

If a politician gets the sanctity of human life wrong, how can I trust him to get much else right? If the Republican Party does not care about the God-given right to Life, I am not a Republican any more.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1mo1MO

Considering Trump's stance not to specify a position on abortion timelines, do you believe leaders should explicitly state their views on such critical matters, or is it acceptable for them to defer to states' decisions?

 @9LDS9TR from Illinois commented…1mo1MO

Considering one of the most famous things that was left to the states and how that went, the president(and other world leaders) should make decisions on important matters like that

 @9LDRRVM from Iowa commented…1mo1MO

Abortion should be left to the states. if people want a different option, they can go to a different state.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1mo1MO

Should deeply controversial issues like abortion be determined by the majority in each state, or should there be a uniform law across the entire country? Why?

 @9LFHZ2F from Pennsylvania commented…1mo1MO

Topics regarding a single person's body should not regard the government and should be up to the person themself. A majority vote should be held across the nation on the topic if a single decision must be adjorned.

 @9LDRRCRLibertarianfrom Vermont commented…1mo1MO

The state more accurately shows the wants of their people rather than federal government who leaves many unsatisfied.

 @XenialS0cialistRepublican from Washington D.C. commented…1mo1MO

By repudiating a federal abortion ban, Trump has pivoted to the center on his most vulnerable issue. Meanwhile, Biden leaves the border wide open, refusing to moderate at all on his most vulnerable issue. If issues actually decide the election, it’s clear what should happen.

 @G3rrymanderSeafowlDemocratfrom Maine disagreed…1mo1MO

Trump realizes it is a losing effort.

Why are Republicans so skilled at finding ways to lose elections?

 @LionHarperGreenfrom North Carolina commented…1mo1MO

After Trump won the 2016 election (inveighing against "globalist" bankers and such) he immediately stocked his Administration with Goldman Sachs personnel. Just like Obama did after the 2008 election. There is a huge problem with Trump supporters not being aware of rational, factually-grounded criticisms of Trump because they systematically disbelieve everything coming out of the media (understandable, given the media's years-long crusade of hysteria) and because Conservative Media never does anything but slavishly kiss Trump's *** (or serve as his "Praetorian Guard," as Ron DeSantis accurately put it)

 @L1beralSnailPeace and Freedom from New Jersey agreed…1mo1MO

There are Trump cultists, and there are an increasing number of sober Trump backers who see his flaws. In the end, it really does feel like the will of the people that he be president again, MAYBE he can be pushed by his base. Biden, no hope of that. Lesser Evil Election.

 @ChicE1ectionSocialistfrom Maine commented…1mo1MO

It’s naïve at this stage to believe that any candidates from the two major parties is the lesser of two evils. What’s the metric? They’re all pro-Big Business, pro-war (the only question is , which one), pro-genocide, anti-worker. Red or Blue, the U.S. worker gets screwed.

 @VengefulCicadaPatriot from California commented…1mo1MO

It's no different than "oh I see this makes not banning AR-15s a winning issue?"

If Trump came out tomorrow and says he would ban bump stocks you'd agree.

We know because he did it. And I know you don't care.

I expect Trump to be as principled on abortion in his next term as president as he was on 2nd Amendment during his last

 @ZealfulR3publicanRepublican from Illinois disagreed…1mo1MO

Oh, pound sand. Plenty of us were very vocal about this being a bad decision.

But I will be damned if I am going to sit around and wait for the perfect conservative to come along.

I will take the man who wants the fight. Warts and all.

I rejected the rest, not on their purity, but on their lack of pugilism.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1mo1MO

How do you feel about the idea of individual states, rather than the federal government, deciding the laws on issues like abortion?

 @9LDT3QF from Louisiana answered…1mo1MO

I think that abortion should be illegal everywhere no matter where you are.

 @9LDT2LSRepublican from Alabama answered…1mo1MO

each state should decide if they want it or not, at a certian point the states have to make regulation on it

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1mo1MO

If a state votes for stringent abortion laws that you deeply disagree with, how would that influence your thoughts about living in or moving to that state?

 @PersistentChoughNo Labels from Oklahoma commented…1mo1MO

Like one hope that he will be disciplined and well focused like this going forward but it's hard with Trump.

But Trump have really big support among right wing that he will not lose and many people like DeSantis could never do this and get away with it.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington commented…1mo1MO

This is why I detest democracy. Politicians who are popularly elected are spineless and have no principles but what can get the uneducated people to throw their support behind them. Trump doesn't believe in State's Rights – we've got like three people in the federal government who actually do: Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and Thomas Massie. Trump only supports State's Rights when it comes to allowing them to permit the industrialised butchery of the unborn within their borders, otherwise he, like 99% of politicians, doesn't give a darn. I would love someone who actually…  Read more

It is up for the States to decide. He doesn't need to give his position because he knows he'd be cancelled even further if he did.
