Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer responds to Benny Gantz call for new elections in Israel (September):
Schumer: “When a leading member of Israel’s war cabinet calls for early elections and over 70% of the Israeli population agrees according to a major poll, you know it’s the right thing to do.”

Far be it from me to actually defend Israel, but Mr. Schumer seems to be overstepping here. Israel is not obligated to hold elections that would potentially lead to hold a new Prime Minister until 2026. Israel's election system is complex and I don't fully understand it either. However I do know that the current coalition took power in 2022 and chose Netanyahu, and they are able to remain in power for 4 years. Now it's true Netanyahu is very unpopular right now, but is that really cause for demanding new elections? Mr. Schumer is currently experiencing low approval ratings. How might he respond if someone suggested we have an election for his seat this year, despite him winning the seat in 2022 and having the right to serve until 2028?
it's still not his place to demand an Israeli election.
He’s lucky we don’t have this system in America

If Arab party makes up difference in blocs election could be inconclusive killing hostage release. Schumer should mind his own business. Schumer supported Iraq war let him resign

Jewish People Policy Institute survey of U.S. Jews:
69% of voters backing Biden think Israel should enter Rafah.
31% of Biden's Jewish supporters want a plan that is acceptable to Biden.

Why won't he call for elections in Gaza and the West Bank?
Schumer once again empowering hamas during sensitive hostage negotiations. You settle hostage issue before elections as next government could not have power to release prisoners of election is inconclusive. Schumer butting in Israel had many inconclusive elections recently
