They struggle to see it because they are white and privileged and don’t want to accept that they have more of a chance of being successful in life simply based on how they look. They want to be able to take full credit for working hard - no one is saying that people don’t work hard to get where they get, but how you look, dress, act and speak certainly makes impressions on people that are in your favor or aren’t. Racism has been present for thousands of years and passed on from generation to generation. The people in power never recognize when there’s a problem.
