First off, yeah. As a Christian, gay marriage and "relations" are considered sinful. Sure, I don't like it, but I can live with it, and I'm not holding it against the guy who makes the rules. Fair.
However, this isn't really so much a question of religion, rather governmental power. The government exists for four purposes: Safety, Stability, Defense, and protection of individuals.
