Why should gay couples have any less rights to adoption than straight people? If a couple passes all background checks and meets all the requirements then they should be allowed to adopt a child, no matter the gender identity or sexual orientation of the couple.

Well, at least that part is logically consistent, but the adopted child does get a say in the matter very often, and if the parent shows to be stable via the measures required to adopt, I don’t see the problem since so many orphans and kids wouldn’t be as likely to be adopted if single parents were out of the program.

I see a severe problem, when statistics consistently show, and common sense proves, that a married father & mother family structure is far better for the child, and indeed the only natural system, as that is what God designed for mankind.

And yet, that system doesn’t work to its fullest when the parents are not biologically theirs, though it might be ideal, that choice lies between the legal guardians who wants to raise the child, and the child themselves, because that doesn’t lie with people outside to choose. Statistically, it’s superior to have biological parents of opposite genders, I’m aware, but it’s not the only working system, nor should it be forced, the same way that it isn’t forced in the reverse.
