Do you support the use of nuclear energy?
No, we should invest in cleaner alternatives such as wind, hydroelectric, thorium, and geothermal
Nuclear energy is the cleanest and most easily available form of green energy. Any time someone mentions Chernobyl or Fukushima they don't realize that American reactors aren't 1980s Soviet technology and not built on fault lines in a freak accident situation. Nuclear waste is far from the glowing green goo that has been so commonly depicted in media. All of these other alternatives (besides thorium reactors) are severely limited in their usage and capabilities. Wind can only work in windy areas, hydroelectric only one sufficiently large rivers, and geothermal only on hotbeds of geothermal energy. Solar requires rare-earth metals that also require heavy mining and there is a need for a massive amount of them just like wind power. Nuclear energy is by far the best current solution. On top of this we should continue to fund research into fusion power, as it is the best long term objective if you are dissatisfied with nuclear energy. People should actually read and learn the facts about nuclear power instead of believing what is almost certainly a continued lobby and propaganda campaign from coal and oil companies to slander it.
