Teachers that have undergone training should be allowed to carry a gun to protect themselves and their students.

 @9GK52P7 from Florida agreed…6mos6MO

I believe teachers should have the ability to defend and protect their students by any means necessary as long as they are clear of mind and licensed to do so.

 @9GPFR2W from North Carolina agreed…6mos6MO

A teacher can only do so much and has the main job to teach education. A security guard should be there and armed to protect students. In the case of an emergency, teachers should be prepared on how to protect children as well.

In accordance with the Second Amendment, teachers should be allowed to carry firearms as a protection against threats, although, these teachers should be required to go through a gun use and safety class.

 @9GLMJBPIndependent from Illinois agreed…6mos6MO

but then the students will be in more danger because that teacher or teachers will be targetted first .

 @9GMMCJ9Libertarian from Missouri agreed…6mos6MO

I feel like teachers should be able to protect their students with out being only one security guard on campus

 @9GNGQ7Zfrom Maine agreed…6mos6MO

I feel as if there is something happening on campus, teachers should have the ability to protect themselves and the children.

 @9GMZYN3 from Mississippi agreed…6mos6MO

To protect the students, they need to be armed. You see school shootings in higher density in Gun regulated situations.

 @9GLL7J8  from Louisiana agreed…6mos6MO

if teachers are feeling scared enough they should be able to conceal carry in a school in case anything does happen

 @9GK75XM from Georgia agreed…6mos6MO

I want as much protection for my kid in school as I can get. We know where we are now and should try anything until all this changes for the better.

 @9GK2TZ8Republican  from Utah agreed…6mos6MO

I feel that the teachers should be allowed to bring a gun to school to protect their classrooms from the terrorists in America, the gender dysphorics with purple hair that get picked on known as the "school shooters" to stop these red coated wrongdoers from potentially killing innocent children.

 @9GMGZ3R from Utah disagreed…6mos6MO

Armed Teachers could snap and cause harm, trained security guards should have more people within their ranks.

 @9GMGNGX from Ohio disagreed…6mos6MO

The key to this problem is people having guns in the first place. A teacher having a gun is dangerous because a kid could grab the gun if it’s in a desk drawer or in their pocket. Kids are reasons for shootings too they bring gongs to their class and it’s only making it easier when multiple teachers in schools have guns for kids to possibly get a hold of. And with little kids they could accidentally shoot somebody or themselves if they got it by accident. Instead get more security guards who are trained professionals to walk around the schools to keep kids safe.

I feel like teachers even if they are trained shouldnt have to deal with that along with dealing with children all day seen as how if they are stressed, they arent trained for that and can end up making a mistake or shooting badly leaving someone injured.

 @9GKMFS4Women’s Equality from Florida disagreed…6mos6MO

Teachers are not getting paid enough to have to carry a fire arm in school. Also a student could find said gun

 @9GKKQQN from Virginia disagreed…6mos6MO

Increase the amount of security guards on school campus instead of giving teachers guns which could end up in the hands of a kid or used wrong.

 @9GK3Y2VDemocrat from Virginia disagreed…6mos6MO

As a former teacher, teachers are facing enough pressure to: teach to standardize tests, be both the disciplinarian, parent and educator and social worker in the classroom, receive a pay substandard to teaching professions around the world. Without the teacher you have nothing but a very ignorant population.

 @9GK3JF8 from Tennessee disagreed…6mos6MO

I think teachers that want to carry and take the necessary steps to acquire a firearm, train, and secure a permit should be allowed to. In no way should a teacher be required to carry. As a teacher, I would never be comfortable with a firearm in my possession, even with training. I feel much more safe with our trained school officer, but not all schools have this option. They should be able to protect, but only if the school officer is unable to.

 @9GK2KJ2Democrat from New Jersey disagreed…6mos6MO

The solution to stopping school shooters is not more guns. The risk of teachers being armed exponentially increases the likelihood of a shooting on campus. I would not feel safe leaving my child in school every day for 9 months knowing there is a gun in the classroom; no matter how sane that teacher is. What if the gun is not watched and is taken by someone? A teachers responsibility is to teach their students. A security guard’s responsibility is to protect the staff and students. More security guards must be present and more strict procedures to be let into a school must be enacted.

 @9GK2K5HDemocrat from New York disagreed…6mos6MO

It is not safe for teachers to be armed. A teacher is just as much liable as the student. Also, this could result in the increase of accidental shootings.

 @9GK28MTWorking Family from Illinois disagreed…6mos6MO

teachers with short tempers an/or not proper training can cause injury or death to the students, where as trained professionals with the proper gear could stop a threat or prevent it from happening
