Unarmed teachers are put in the impossible position of having to place themselves between the threat and their students. Without the ability to defend themselves, you are creating soft targets and more victims. Security guards cannot be everywhere at once. Arm teachers to be able to protect themselves and students until help arrives.

Armed teachers are dangerous in themselves and can be the cause of many accidental shooting and disasters. Although it would be helpful against school shootings, there's too many negative things that could happen instead.

How would that happen? There’s no reason to assume that a secured firearm would negligently discharge itself into a child. That scenario is highly unlikely.
