Should police departments be allowed to use military grade equipment?
Yes, but with strict training on how and when to use the equipment
My stance that the police should not have access to military-grade fire arms stands alongside the idea that there should be more enforced gun control. With that in mind, there should not be any need for military grade weapons. If the first option for a police officer is to kill whomever they are suspecting or whomever is committing a crime, I think the system of policing is inherently flawed. Police officers must be knowledgeable about human rights, ethics, and the laws they are protecting.
