Should police departments be allowed to use military grade equipment?
Yes, but with strict training on how and when to use the equipment
These people are statistically more likely to use lethal force. A person being arrested by the police should NEVER die, and military grade weapons being readily available to officers makes that far more possible. I would never say completely disarm the police, they should have guns and they should have shotguns. But military grade assault weapons are something police don't need. If we are in need of such force, we should send the coast guard. Most other countries have systems like this in place and police violence is much lower per capita in those countries than the U.S.

I disagree with it attracting power hungry people but I know for a fact there some cops in the world that are power hungry.
