It is the privilege and responsibility of every human to care for the world in which we live and leave it better for the following generations. With the increase of information and technology working together a solution should available to solve the issue of how to dispose of waste.

 @9FDD7ST from Missouri commented…8mos8MO

Instead of removing current methods we should increase funding and ideas for Renewable energy sources that not only aren't a burden like the current ones , but also can be easily phased In and cause a benefit Instead of a burden on the average consumers.

Wind energy is massively killing birds and wildlife

Solar is extremely expensive

Water is also killing fish and animals we need to eat and affecting the ecosystem

The idea our current ideas and methods are some how better is a delusional mindset considering we are ignorant of the ramifications of using these methods.

Currently we…  Read more

I deny the premise - climate change is not a real issue so we should stop treating it as such. The climate changes; that's how the world works. It's not a bad thing to try to be smart with how we use energy and resources, but we need to stop treating climate change as a real problem.

 @9F9GBVHRepublican from Colorado disagreed…8mos8MO

Climate change has been a fact for billions of years, CO2 is good for plants, therefore there is more green than ever.

 @6avinfrom Maine commented…2mos2MO

The issue with this statement is that there isn't more green than ever. Firstly, plants have multiple needs like other nutrients, water, and sunlight. Plants don't grow more and healthier because you give them a single nutrient like how any human wouldn't do well off a single nutrient. Secondly, deforestation is still a problem. Older and richer ecosystems like rainforests are capable of absorbing more carbon and putting it in the ground.

That's why it's so important to properly preserve our national parks (among other reasons), only cut down trees that are grown to be cut down - opposed to clearing old ecosystems, and preserve the high seas which provide about 50-80% of our oxygen

 @9FBFYWKRepublican from Connecticut disagreed…8mos8MO

It is sometimes hard to believe what you hear about climate change as there are two vastly different sides of the debate. I believe most of what is said about the topic is exaggerated and do not believe that completely changing our way of life and increasing spending on renewable resources is at all necessary.

 @6avinfrom Maine disagreed…2mos2MO

Of course it's not necessary. Because it doesn't affect you. We have much more to gain (resources, profits, stability) by incrementally applying proven methods that strengthen the ecosystems that allow us to breathe and eat. Ultimately, it's not about us. It's about future generations thriving.

 @9FF2GX4Progressive from Virginia agreed…8mos8MO

Although I agree that we should be switching over to renewable energy sources I don't believe that our driving force for this is to conserve fossil fuels. Although, these fossil fuels would be helpful in the future if we start running out of energy and can only rely on it. I believe it is for the best to move away from fossil fuels entirely and hopefully never use them again.

 @9F9SR76 from Missouri disagreed…8mos8MO

This argument is ridiculous. Natural gas and oil provide us with dependable energy sources that save lives, preventing us from being subject to extreme heat or cold in the summer and winter months. Oil provides us with the single most efficient form of transportation by powering internal combustion engines, which are now much cleaner than they ever have been. If you want to save the environment, stop stifling innovation and forcing lithium powered cars on everyone. There's nothing clean about mining for lithium. And there's not enough windmills in the world to provide us with enough energy to provide a stable power grid to provide for the charging needs these vehicles require.

 @9F9HTHJ from New York disagreed…8mos8MO

The planet naturally changes, man made climate change has had a negligible impact on the environment and most of the change is from natural causes

 @9F978DCfrom Michigan disagreed…8mos8MO

Laissez-faire free market capitalism & profit will create economic growth. This will excel systematic performance and provide solutions necessary to combat environmental disasters created by domestic and foreign governments. “Green” energy is ineffective & stupendous. It doesn’t efficiently produce energy and is extremely expensive to manufacture and construct. Its incredibly inconvenient as weather conditions change rapidly due to natural conditions. The sun doesn’t always shine, wind doesn’t always blow etc. It actually damages the climate by creating…  Read more

If we continue to hurt the earth it will continue hurt and no more trees or plants will be able to grow where they are needed to over homes being made

 @9FF33LM from Tennessee agreed…8mos8MO

I agree as if we continue on the road that we are on the living areas will continue to get more and more extreme temperature which would have a negative impact on both animals and humans as it can lead to the migration of both.

 @9FF2X6GRepublican from North Carolina agreed…8mos8MO

Agree. If our climate continues to stay the way it is or get worse, we wont make it another 100 years.

 @9F9P68T from South Carolina disagreed…8mos8MO

most countries in the first world has polluted less in the last 10 years than china does in 1 month.

 @9FC9CF7 from Virginia commented…8mos8MO

If you won’t do it for the emissions caused on the global scale, do it for the fact that oil is running out, coal isn’t cost competitive, and the local pollution from it is already a massive problem. It’s just a genuinely bad idea to keep using fossil fuels, and that should be the main focus of the energy sector

 @9FBZ88WRepublicanfrom Virgin Islands disagreed…8mos8MO

We should drill as much oil as we can because CO2 can't cause global warming and climate has always changed.
