You believe that a strong, unified nation can be achieved by promoting and prioritizing a shared religious identity and values.
Religious nationalism is a political ideology that combines religious beliefs with a sense of cultural or ethnic identity, often leading to the belief that a particular religion and nationality are inherently linked. This ideology often manifests in the belief that a nation should be governed by the principles of a particular religion, or that a specific religion should be favored or promoted by the state.
The history of religious nationalism is as old as religion and nationhood themselves. It has been a significant factor in numerous historical and contemporary political movements…

What steps would you take to preserve the cultural festivals and traditions of minorities in a society focused on one religion?
Every minority group should be able to participate in any tradition they want to and should not be restricted from doing so.
@9JQ92JC3mos3MO
Minor should be watched at all times because lately they have too much freedom which influences them horribly. I.E. Social media and finding ways to get drugs.
@9L88VD3 2mos2MO
Hard to say. In my opinion it's best for people of similar culture and religion to live and work among each other and keep separate from others who differ drastically in those respects. Economic and political cooperation is fine and even necessary in some circumstances, but forcing people together just dilutes all cultures and you get people on all sides who are unhappy. We would be better off keeping among our own kind and letting others do the same, while also not interfering with or dominating the other groups.

It's up to them whether it stays up and alive. If you have a different culture then you should be responsible for celebrating it.
@ISIDEWITH2mos2MO
How would you approach making healthcare decisions if all medical advice was filtered through religious doctrine?
@9KZ4YS22mos2MO
I would definitely agree with religion coming to intervene the healthcare system because there are values and morals that exist within religion that can help make reasonable and logical desicions.
@9KYZ2G32mos2MO
I would not want my religious beliefs to effect my healthcare
@9KYYZ3D2mos2MO
I would not do that because as a catholic, I believe in letting other do what they want without trying to force ideology on others as long as they do the same. So this can start arguments and hate crimes if this is ever enforced
@9KYYWYG2mos2MO
It wouldn't be ideal in a country that is based off of religious freedom, coming from an avid christian.
@ISIDEWITH4mos4MO
How would you adapt if your favorite books or films were suddenly restricted due to their religious content?
@9JDZSXM4mos4MO
I don't think I would like that because I may enjoy those films or books, but I wouldn't expect them to be forced onto other people. As long as that's not happening, I don't think they should be restricted.
@9JFBFRS4mos4MO
These restrictions also known as censoring is unconstitutional violating the first amendment rights.
@9JF7Y5HWomen’s Equality4mos4MO
I don’t see how the constitution could claim to give of us freedom of religion, press, etc and go on to restrict certain things.
I would be very upset. I would be misrable if i could not read. i would probably just die.
@9JF22554mos4MO
i wouldn’t be the happiest about this decision, which is why i don’t think one religion should lead a nation, and everyone should be free to any religion they choose to believe
@ISIDEWITH2mos2MO
If religion dictated the civil liberties in your country, how empowered would you feel to fight for your rights?
@9KYCD3R2mos2MO
The way that we are currently running is messed up many ways but I agree with some that are in today. I really think that the border and foreign politics need to be revamped including with prison reforms and abortion reforms.
@9KYC2M22mos2MO
That reaches into the regions of Theocracy, and Theocracy is never a good idea. While morals and societal foundations are a good thing, we do not need religion to establish it. Religion is often used as a form of manipulation.
@9KYC3MJ2mos2MO
Personally, depending on the religion being dictated, I would feel more motivated. However, that means that others who don't share my beliefs wouldn't want to.
Very. The beleifs of few should not affect the majority.
@ISIDEWITH4mos4MO
How would you expect your workplace or school environment to change under a government promoting a single religion?
@9JDT76YRepublican4mos4MO
My environment should definitely be against this. Goes against the 1st amendment.
@9JFDSWZ4mos4MO
Every person should have the ability to choose their own religion, and the government shouldn't choose it for them.
@9JDT8SV4mos4MO
i think that there would be a disagreement as to there are many different people with many different beliefs.
It's a terrifying thought, no? Maybe we can be like Germany in WWII.
@ISIDEWITH3mos3MO
What if public discussions and debates were framed by the predominant religion of your nation, would you feel comfortable speaking up?
I believe there is no place for religious nationalism in this country.
@9KLRTP32mos2MO
This is a predominantly religious and nationalistic country. It was practically built on those two in some shape or form but leaving those would just leave the US as another soulless husk of a country without an identity.
@9KFP2QF3mos3MO
I think that religion and politics should be separate.
@9KFNX9PRepublican3mos3MO
I think that you should be allowed to believe whatever you want with nobody telling you whats right and whats wrong.
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
How would you feel about your country's national anthem if it included references to a specific religion?
@9J7CWWX4mos4MO
america is a land of free religion and you are allowed to believe in what you want.
@9J7CPS54mos4MO
It would not bother me and I would not care about it. If religion was included it better be christianity.
@9J7CLPJ4mos4MO
it is still the national anthem if you don't like it i'll help you pack your bags
@ISIDEWITH2mos2MO
How might your social circle look different if religion shaped the laws governing who you can befriend or date?
@9L7HT9J2mos2MO
Religion is important to me and while the United States should strive to be a moral and upright country everyone has the right to practice, or not practice, whatever religion they wish. Religion while culturally important to the United States should only influence American politics in a limited way
I am not a religious or spiritual person so for me to have a circle that would impact by decision would drastically change most of not all of my beliefs.
@9L7HPTJ2mos2MO
Religious nationalism should not exist and people should be free to make their own choices
@ISIDEWITH6mos6MO
In what ways do you think religious nationalism could impact the everyday lives of people who don't follow the majority religion?
@9H9JKJ56mos6MO
Is there is a set religion for the country as a whole that infringes on your rights you have an opinion and you should be able to believe what you want.
@9H9JHCM6mos6MO
I think it could make people more connected if they shared a love for the same country and religion, but people should still have a choice to follow different religions.
@9H5XHTSRepublican6mos6MO
It could greatly impact them for the better, religious people tend to live moral and charitable lives.
@9H5S2J66mos6MO
Have the freedom to practice what you like, but also allow others the freedom not too.
@ISIDEWITH2mos2MO
If the music concerts you attend were filtered through faith-based approval, how might your taste in music or support for artists change?
@9KYC7H72mos2MO
My support for artists that support Religious Nationalism like this would decrease significantly, the government should never have the power to filter what can and cannot be shared as long as it doesn't put anyone in immediate danger.
@9KYC6QP2mos2MO
It wouldn't. I would like the artist no matter their belief or the filter on the concert
@9KYC6DT2mos2MO
some would stay like the country or rock but the heavy metal would have to stop
