1) Require strict background checks, psychological testing, and training (i.e. make new gun owners pass both a written & firing exam, but all states must become a"shall-issue" jurisdictions).
2) Close the gun show (i.e. "private seller") loophole by requiring sellers to ask for identification.
3) Pass a national “stand your ground” law
4) Increase penalties for gun-related crimes.
5) Repeal the Hughes Amendment (i.e. allow people to purchase fully automatic firearms, 50 caliber firearms, & bump stocks if they register them & pay a one-time $470 tax).
6) Allow people to manufacture (but not sell unless they have a seller’s license) 3D printed firearms and other types of weapons as long as they register both the weapon(s) & the printer & pay a one-time $465 tax.
7) Improve communication/reporting with NCIS & all other databases by imposing a massive fine on each company/agency that fails to report anything.
8) Reintroduce gun safety training in schools (example = Eddie eagle program).
9) Require a lock and/or a safe to be included with every 1st purchase for a new gun owner (assuming this isn’t already standard practice).
10) Require "gun-free" zones to have trained security guards and/or allow employees to conceal carry if they have a license.
11) Repeal the “Dickey amendment” preventing additional research associated with violent crimes by the CDC (or any other federally funded research body) and specifically fund further research.
12) Designate June 21 as National ASK (Asking Saves Kids) Day each year which encourages parents to ask others if there is an unlocked gun in the home prior to allowing their children to visit. The logic behind the date selection, the first day of summer and the summer solstice, is the season in which kids spend more time visiting friends and relatives’ homes.
13) Remove all transfer taxes & waiting periods put on all types of suppressors & foldable/telescoping stocks.
